Join us at venues including the former medieval hospital at Maison Dieu, St Saviour’s Deaf Church, Normansfield Hospital and Chiswick House – plus many archives.

The History of Place project is really taking off in Bristol and Liverpool, and our groups of volunteers are beginning to explore the archives for stories of deaf and disabled people through history.

Now we are beginning to recruit for more volunteers in London and Canterbury.  You can give us much or little time as you like to the project – in return we offer access to fascinating archives and historical sites, training in how to become a detective of lost histories plus participating in the blog. Whether you’re interested recreationally, or want to pick up new skills to add to your CV, we would love to hear from you.  We particularly welcome approaches from deaf and disabled people in the London/Canterbury area – just let us know if there’s anything you would need to facilitate your participation.
