Description | In 1898 the school opened a second site in Wavertree while continuing to run the school at Hardman Street. The book lists some of the products being manufactured at the school in 1931 including baskets, chairs, machine knitted goods and mats and lists them as ‘cane workers and basket makers’. The 1932 extension at the Hardman Street provided the school with a new shop to sell items to the public. One of our researchers mum recalls walking past the school shop as a girl and wishing she could own one of the beautiful baskets being made here. |
