- Historic England has published an overview of disabled people in history in a series of short essays – beginning just pre-Conquest in 1050, through to the access protests of the 1980s. History of Place was inspired by the research undertaken by Disability in Time and Place.
- The National Disabillity Arts Collection & Archive is working on a project to tell the story of the Disability Arts Movement – the majority of the material will go live on a dedicated website in 2018.
Timelines
- Volunteers on the History of Place project have drawn together a timeline from the 13th century onwards, with a global perspective and a particular emphasis on the founding of institutions and collectives, as well as some laws.
- The Guardian’s timeline of disability rights around the world since 1944 picks up on legal landmarks and modern protest.
