The Unlimited Symposium on 4th – 5th September will bring together artists, practitioners and organisations across all artforms to be part of an ongoing conversation around disability arts.
The conference in London is now sold out, but there are events around the country where the conference will be livestreamed, with an opportunity for local groups to meet at other locations to discuss the issues together and feed into the main event.
One such event is being organised at the Pound Arts Centre in Corsham, Wiltshire. If you would like to attend in Corsham the event is free, but please get in touch with their Box Office, so they know how many people to expect. The phone number is: Pound Arts Box Office: 01249 701628 / 712618 or you can email email@example.com. The venue is fully accessible, and there is a quiet room for those who would like to take a break at any point.
The final crowdsourced themes for the conference will be:
- Art: How can disabled artists change the ‘mainstream’ arts sector?
- Equality: Disability, intersectional identities and the arts
- Attitude: Why is it taking so long? Can we speed up change? Will we ever get there?
- Future: Does new technology enable or create more barriers?
If you have any questions about the Corsham event, contact organiser Tanvir Bush at firstname.lastname@example.org – she will be happy to talk to you about it further.
Read full details of the Unlimited Symposium here – if Corsham isn’t in your area of the country, there are other opportunities to participate online or host your own event.
